Questions to resolve before quotation
What causes aluminum furnace lining damage?+
Metal penetration, chemical reaction, oxide buildup, flux, thermal cycling and aggressive cleaning can act together.
Are low-cement castables suitable?+
Specific non-wetting and chemically compatible formulations may be evaluated, but the application, alloy, flux, temperature and installation must be reviewed.
Can launders use the same material as the furnace?+
Not automatically. Flow, heat loss, metal cleanliness, geometry, cycling and replaceability may favor a different lining system.
